Representative Work

  • Professional Liability with particular emphasis on design professionals
  • Environmental Law including contamination and land use

  • Participation in ADR as counsel, mediator, umpire, and arbitrator

Profile

Dan advises clients on matters in numerous North American jurisdictions concerning matters of international conflict of laws. He has consulted clients concerning a multitude of jurisdictions including Australia, Brazil, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands and Japan.

Dan has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada in recent precedent setting cases relating to manufacturer's liability, commercial host liability, and tort law causation. He has extensive experience with large, complex multi-party litigation and is frequently involved in the resolution of claims through a multitude of forms of alternative dispute resolution.

Dan is a member of the Aviation Insurance Association and is a member of the Law Societies of Alberta, The Northwest Territories, and Saskatchewan. He has lectured or presented papers before a number of industry audiences.
