Representative Work

Nancy facilitates creative solutions in an effort to provide prompt, practical and cost effective services to her clients. She strives to actively advance her clients' objectives through effective written and oral advocacy. Nancy resolves civil disputes for her clients through litigation, mediation, and a number of other alternative dispute resolution forums as a member of the firm's Advocacy Group. She has particular interest in the following areas:

  • Advising clients on strategic approaches for the resolution of complex multi-party and international disputes
  • Catastrophic Personal Injury and Fatality Litigation arising out of industrial accidents, motor vehicle accidents, and occupier's liability incidents
  • Corporate and Commercial Litigation including contractual, commercial, and shareholder disputes
  • Products Liability and Manufacturer's Liability litigation including design and fabrication deficiencies
  • Insurance Litigation including first party claims, complex coverage disputes, large loss subrogation matters, priority claims and SEF 44 defence
  • Insurance "Bad Faith" claims

Profile

Nancy has appeared as counsel before all levels of Court in Alberta. She has extensive trial experience at both the Trial and Appellate levels concerning a variety of different civil disputes including personal injury, fatality claims, and construction matters. She is frequently involved in the resolution of claims through alternative dispute resolution including mediation and judicial dispute resolution.

Nancy currently serves on the General Insurance Council and regularly presents seminars and presentations on litigation and ADR matters before a variety of industry audiences. She currently sits on the Boards of the Glenrose Rehabiliation Hospital Foundation, City of Edmonton Advisory Board for Services for Persons With Disabilities and is the Vice-Chair of Muscular Dystrophy Canada.
