Representative Work

Liza's experience in Employment Law assists her to understand the adversities experienced by clients and gives her the practical knowledge that enables her to anticipate and prevent some of these situations. She resolves civil disputes for her clients through litigation, mediation, and a number of other alternative dispute resolution forums. She has particular interest in the following areas:

• Advising clients on strategic approaches for the prompt and economical resolution of disputes
• Employment Law issues including, enforcement of non-competition agreements, wrongful dismissal claims, and workplace harassment
• Corporate and Commercial Litigation including contractual, commercial, and shareholder disputes
• Advising on Employment related issues in conjunction with our Business Law and Mergers and Acquisitions Groups
• Advising Employers on implementation of policies
• Advising clients Human Rights compliance and complaints
• Labour Board Hearings
• Professional Regulatory Hearings

Profile

Liza has appeared as counsel before all levels of Court in Alberta as well as the Alberta Labour Relations Board and numerous professional administrative tribunals. The majority of her practice involves corporate litigation with an emphasis on Labour and Employment issues. Liza is frequently involved in the resolution of claims through alternative dispute resolution including mediation and judicial dispute resolution.
